Congratulations on your new eyebrows!
The best results come from the "Do Nothing" or "Dry" healing method. Keeping them dry for the next 10 days makes them retain more color, detail and crisp strokes, so it’s worth it. You can do it!
Here's how ...
2 hours after the procedure wash the ointment off your brows with the sterile water and gauze pad included in your kit. Twist the top off the water, wet gauze and use a little pressure to wipe brows clean. That’s it for the next 10 days!
Use the blotting paper included in your care packet at least 2-3 times a day for normal skin, 5-6 times a day for oily skin, during the first 10 days. Blot the entire forehead area and also blot directly on top of the brows, to absorb excess oil and sweat.
Keep your face directly out of the shower stream and do your best to carefully wash hair and keep your face as dry as possible. Keep paper towels on hand to pat dry if they accidentally get moist. Also keep showers brief to avoid too much steam.
No heavy exercising or sweating for 10 days. If you want the best color and detail retention, this is crucial.
Do not apply any cosmetics on your brows for AT LEAST 10 days.
When washing your face, use a washcloth or disposable cleansing wipe to wash AROUND the brows, making sure they stay dry. After this 10-day dry period, please resume washing your face and brows normally, but gently, using a mild cleanser.
Protect healing brows from sun exposure by wearing a hat. After they are healed protect daily with sunscreen to minimize premature fading and discoloration.
No picking scratching or itching. You will shed a layer of skin, this is normal! After 10 days, if skin remains, you may moisturize once a day with Cetaphil face lotion. Let it all fall off naturally. Do not apply petroleum products or healing ointments of any kind. Keep anti-acne products, lightening creams, glycolic acids, retinols, etc. off of both fresh AND healed brows.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Finely detailed, slight redness.
Brows become darker and more filled in looking as they form a light scab. This is only temporary - don't panic!
After 10 days you may use brow makeup very gently if you need it. Please remove it with something very mild. You may also begin washing your face, including your brows, gently with a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. The color will slowly bloom back to the surface as the new skin around it continues to heal. Wait at least 4 weeks to see the true color, as it will take on new strength and properly settle into the skin.
4-8 WEEKS LATER
The second appointment is to tighten up your shape, touch up any light spots and assess how your skin reacts to the process, and the chosen color. Each client's pigment blend is noted, in case we need to layer in a different shade or adjust the tone.
This is a two-step process. Brows look really finished after the 2nd appointment. There are no implied or written guarantees if you do not take care of your tattoo as directed.
